3.  Iphone and Footloose.  Frustrated Blackberry users and iPhone fans rejoice.  The new iPhone 4s is available today.  The new voice command feature is the most impressive new toy, while 80's fans, dancing fans and movie lovers will enjoy footloose in theatres today.

2.  Household Hazardous Waste Day is tomorrow from 10-2 at the Civic Services Complex on Richmond Avenue.  For more go to the twitter window at www.starfm.ca

1.  Brandon's Community Centres will be busy this weekend.  The South End Community Centre hosts Oktoberfest Saturday at 6:30, and the Park Community Centre hosts their 11th Annual Fall Record & Music Sale from 11-5 Sunday.

- Keep your eyes open for the color red!  If there's a group of folks with red ribbons hanging out on your lawn tomorrow between 9-7... It's just The Kinette Club of Brandon Painting the Town Red! For a suggested donation of $20 they'll set up camp on your front lawn, driveway, deck or business and you can move them along to a friend of choice. They will be leaving red ribbons around town to show who helped support them. Proceeds go to Portraits of Honor, remembering the fallen Canadian Soldiers of the Afghan Mission. - Daly's Antique Road Show is today at the Daly House Museum from 10-4.  Call 727-1722 for info.  And Antique Appraisal Day in the Harding Community Centre goes Sunday from 10-5.

 

- The Royal Winnipeg Ballet is in brandon at the WMCA tonight.  Svengali starts at 7:30pm  go to wmca.ca or call 728-9510

 

- There's a benefit social tonight at the Vic Inn for Brian Mitchell - who lost his house trailer and it's contents in a fire on September 3rd. Doors open at 8. There'll be Live bands, a DJ, food, a silent auction and more. Tickets are $15 each at both Mohawk locations or by calling 721-1058. Donation tickets for $10 are also available.

 

- Fire Prevention Week Wraps up today with fire officials at Canadian Tire giving fire safety advice!

 

- Brandon's semi-annual cemetery cleanup starts tomorrow.  All items must be removed from loved ones' grave sites by then. Any items left will be taken away by city staff.

 

- There's a Westman Youth Choir Concert on Saturday at Killarney United Church. Adults $10/students $5. They'll be in Deloraine Sunday, with the performance beginning at 7:30 in the Deloraine-Winchester Theatre.

 

- Minnedosa Koats for Kids is now accepting gently used winter clothing at Minnedosa Heritage Co-op, Tanner's Crossing School, Minnedosa Dollar Store and the Minnedosa Regional Library. For further information 867-2286.

 

- On Saturday from 10-3 volunteers are welcome to join Students In Free Enterprise at Cando Contracting to help build 80 raised garden beds. The new beds are expected to increase their produce by over 4,000 pounds - with much of it going to the Samaritan House. For more information 1-416-304-1566.

- Its time to start (or finish!) your holiday shopping! 28 Vendors will be at the Fabulous Fall Festival Shopping Event at the Royal Oak form 10-4 Saturday. There’ll be Door prizes, Draws, & Sales GALORE!

 

- Melita Golf Club is holding a Fall Craft & Trade Show on Saturday, October 15th from 11am - 4pm in the Melita Legion Hall. Adults $2, 12 & under $1, preschoolers free. For table bookings 522-3278.

 

- Westman Youth Choir Concert will be held on Saturday, October 15th at Killarney United Church. Adults $10/students $5.
